Tribeca is a lime stone formed as a very fine grained mud deposit with a relative high percentage of organic matter. The latter with its sulfur content protects the stone against fungus. Some minor re-crystallization took place, creating small calcite crystals, which give it a slight glittery effect. Stone has very low porosity and permeability, so suitable for swimming pools, drive ways and terraces.
